A Book? You? Yep. Want to be part of it?

I was approached to be part of a book project. He approached some of the biggest and brightest in education. He then approached me as well wink

Here is his concept:

So - this idea is to use our spare time (ha, ha), to each contribute a chapter to what will eventually be a book about moving education forward, innovating to find solutions and the tools we may use to get this done. It will not be a book expressly about technology in education, but rather take the approach that education in the 21st Century is an entirely different enterprise than when we all started doing this back in the 20th century.

He got a resounding yes and many of the people who are part of the book are the people you have come to know and love at the conferences you attend as well as some classroom teachers who do not get the opportunity to present but really should have their voices heard.

I got lucky. I get to talk about tools and the tool they would like me to talk about is Digital Photography.

My goal is to help the educator with all the basics to take better photos in the classroom. We are not doing that enough. I am sure parents would appreciate more photos of their children and I am sure the educator would enjoy the memories.

I only have one chapter and this might be the first book of a series, so, we will be keeping to the basics.

Where do you, the person reading this blog, come in?

If you know me you know I am a fan of "all together now". I am not the only one possessing knowledge in this topic. I am sure some of you have a tip, story or photo to share that might help an educator.

So, this is my call to you. Would you like to be part of my chapter?

What are you looking for?

I am looking for a tip, photo or photo with a story that might help someone on their road to learning and I consider even the most seasoned photographer a life long learner.

What's in it for me?

If I chose to publish something you send to me you will be given full credit. I will see about getting you the book at a reduced cost and if the thing turns out not to be too expensive I will spring for copies for everyone who ends up in my chapter.

Can I submit more than one thing?

You sure can! My plan is to keep it to one published thing per person, but, I will review that rule if you publish some silly crazy good stuff.

Do I have to be an educator or awesome photographer to be part of it?

No way! Learning is learning. I am hoping all sorts of people that make up my list of friends and acquaintances take part.

Ok, I am interested! What is next?

I have made a Google Form that you can use to fill out as many times as you would like. If you submit a photo and it contains other people, you will need to have model releases from them! We do not want pictures of kids in this book without permission from a parent.

I am sure I am missing something. I will update this accordingly. Until then, here is the form!
